What inspired me to become a doula?

 

A long chapter in my life of working in the food service industry first as a pastry chef, then as an owner/operator of a food truck was coming to a close.  I took some time to reflect inward. I asked myself, “If you could do ANYTHING, what would you do?” A whisper came to me almost immediately. “I would be a doula.”

 

As I continued to ask myself this question day after day, that whisper grew louder.  I remembered first my journey into new parenthood and then later bringing a second new member into the family.  I have a deep desire to be the support for other families that I so desperately needed.  I am humbled and honored to be able to help ease that transition, provide non-judgmental support in whatever ways best serve you and your family, and make it as smooth, peaceful, and enjoyable as possible.
